I downloaded my Chase business and personal account last year activity (Qfx) from my chase.com account but can not download more than 90 days of my Chase Amazon credit card, I searched and couldn't find the answer, any way i can bring the 2016 activity to quicken

    Download older transactions (Q Windows only)

    Depending on how
    much data the banks offer, you can download older transactions from most banks.

    Hi @thecreator , thank you, I contacted Chase bank , unfortunately they only have 90 days available for credit card to download, Do you know any other way that I can transfer them to quicken? do you have the link that can help me understand how to add them manually?

    Thank you very much but I did exact the same and chose date between 01/01/2016 to 12/31 then it only downloaded December activity

    For what it is worth I have certainly seen different financial institutions limit the time ranges for certain data formats. Sometimes they post something like 'you can only download XX days', and sometimes silently giving you only what they choose.
    In general financial institutions tend to allow to download in CSV format for the longest date ranges.
    So you might see if that with CSV they give you the transactions you need.

    OK, I just tried the actual download ... although I used my Southwest Visa instead of the Amazon card because the SWA card has MUCH more activity.
    I set the date range to 7/1/16 to present ... but only got 12/1/16 to present.
    SO, it does indeed look like Chase limits even the web initiated downloads.
    And I downloaded in CSV format, so that I could get an easy look at the transactions in Excel without having them not accepted by Q due to being duplicates.

    That is disappointing, and I think it is new. Maybe since they redid their site.
    I remember being able to download a much longer history on my Chase credit card, but I just tried it, and got the same results.

    I know this will come up again so here is a tip. You can download your end of year pdf file, SELECT ALL, COPY, PASTE into Notepad. It takes a bit of massaging but you can delete the chart data and such, then import it into Excel and then CONVERT TEXT TO COLUMNS.
    I tried extracting the data using Adobe and a couple others and this method is by far the easiest. It will not import nicely straight into Excel so Notepad editing becomes necessary.

Chase Business Download Transactions

I have Quicken 2016 Premier. I also have my Chase CC linked and configured to download transactions via DirectConnect.
When I attempt to download all my posted transactions, some of these are correctly downloaded, but some are not. Naturally, this makes my local balance be different to my online balance, and it becomes a pain, since, in order to solve the problem, I need to start comparing my statement transactions with my quicken transactions and add the missing ones in quicken.
What could the problem be? why are some transactions not downloaded automatically?
Keep in mind that these are not pending transactions, which I understand won't show up.

    HMMM, because I have 3 Chase credit cards ... and no problem whatsoever downloading from them.
    Can you isolate any common element about the transactions that don't download?
    Have you looked at your QFX Log to see if it's being downloaded, but not presented in Q? HELP, Log Files, QFX Log. Save the file to your desktop, and open with NotePad or WordPad (NOT MS Word)

    So I looked in the QFX logs as you suggested and the missing transactions were downloaded! I do see my missing transactions in the log.
    Now, what would be the next step to figure out why Quicken is dismissing these?

    The next step is to look at the Downloaded ID. It is the FITID field in the OFX logs, and you can view a column with it by going to the register and selecting the lower gear icon. Note in two column mode you also have to select Downloaded Reference.
    Quicken is not going to show you a transaction where it has already the same Id. Also if you download a transaction and delete it you will not be able to see it in the register (but you might find it in the logs), but Quicken still keeps track of them, and it will not show it to you.

    After checking the OFX logs, I observed that the missing transactions were downloaded correctly from Chase. However, I could not figure out why they were not registered. I still don't see the pattern in the missing transactions that would explain why some show up and some don't.
    I verified the file via menu File->File Operations->Validate and Repair and some chase transactions were detected as corrupt. None of these related to the missing transactions.
    In order to handle the missing transactions, I simply added them manually, which is not ideal.

    Look in Help -> Log Files -> OFX Log
    New logs are at the bottom, and it easiest to look at if you just update the Chase accounts in one session, but just look for a transaction amount Quicken shows, and the other transactions will be in a similar format in the same section.
    In that way you can see if Chase is in fact including the transactions or not.
    And also if they are their check the FITID if it is a duplicate of another transaction then Quicken won't import it either. In your account register you can turn on the column for Downloaded ID (that is the FITID). Note you have to turn on Downloaded Reference too if in two column mode.

    OK, I see now how to find the FITID.
    And yes, Chase is including the foreign transaction fees in the QFX file.
    And now I see that the fee's FITID is the same as the purchase FITID that generated the fee.
    So how does one fix this, so that the fees appear in the Downloaded Transactions and I can accept them into the normal register?
    And why didn't this problem exist before? For years I've been making foreign purchases on this Chase card and not had a problem getting the fees to show in Quicken after an import.

    Only Chase can fix the problem. Every transaction has to have an unique Id.
    As for why now, that would be up to Chase to answer, they broke it.
    As a workaround if you download the QFX file from Chase's website, you can edit it any any text editor, and just change the FITID to something else, like just add an A to the end.
    The QFX file is basically the 'response' of a Direct Connect conversation between Quicken and the financial institution. Quicken requests the transactions and Chase sends that response. And logs it in the OFX log for debugging just this kind of problem.
    Of course you could just enter it manually too.
